Ask Some Questions…

12 Aug

What are You Hearing?

What does it look like from your perspective? What is your take on things? From your perspective, How is it? Your viewpoint is not only highly valuable; it is ultimately needed to help us all get it together. You can see things that others may not be seeing. The places you walk & the people you talk with are giving you a needed insight that must be included in the greater response of what this Generation is Crying out for. Well, what is it? Give it a Go… What are real people asking questions about, not the political charged people who are feeding their own bottom line & don’t even know it, but the people who have nothing to lose because they have no political latter to be climbed. What are they asking about? What is their Hearts Cry? What is their pain index? How is God working in their current situation? Where has Grace shown up and given an insight that there can be a better tomorrow, really! Or even a better Right Now. What about the things that have been broken, the systems that just didn’t measure up. What are people saying about these things? Their voices must be heard, if we are going to be effective in Embracing this generation with the Grace of God. People are experiencing all sorts of hardships; I mean really bad circumstances, what are they saying about it? We must be asking these questions. The questions must be asked. Above this, the people’s response must be given an opportunity to be heard, openly & clearly, not with sanctioned religious filters. Only after people can share their real situation, feelings, & pains will we be able to get a much clearer understanding on what this generation is crying out for. The questions may not be easy to ask, this I know, because once we hear clearly what others are experiencing we will be left with a choice. That is either to listen with open ears & heart, and be willing to engage & embrace while offering help & support, or to cling onto our own presumptions & pretend we are listening while shaking our head with a yes but in our heart really meaning no. My hope is that we will start asking these questions and more importantly start listening to people’s responses. I believe we will hear traces of God’s voice in their responses, the voices might be painful, but in them we can gain a divine insight into the Heart of God. Let’s ask some questions instead of just downloading information onto people.. I believe we all will be very surprised in the amazing wisdom that will reveal itself in the process. By the way, we are all humans in the journey of life together, the good the bad the happy the sad, its all ours moment by moment. What does the Cry sound like to you? Ask some questions. Share the responses… Grace & Peace

Hurled to the Sidelines

10 Aug

Not for Everybody…
Everything doesn’t work out as we have planned. Sometimes things get pretty screwed up, I mean totally messed up. We can do everything we can to avoid hardships, but they may invade our lives at any given time. Even when we have done our best, there is no guarantee it is all going to come together. This is not a life of predictable outcomes, people get hurt, and people die whom we have loved the most. Life is filled with all sorts of real set-backs. It’s in these moments, when we are hurled to the sidelines of life, that we can gain a perspective on how things really are. Like: what‘s really motivating us, why are we doing what we are doing, and also we will have a better read on what others are experiencing in life. It doesn’t all work out for everybody, things get broken, people get taken for granted, and the list goes on & on… For those who have been set aside, broken down, or marginalized, there is a shinning glimmer of hope. God promises He will be there. It may not be in the same way that “religious people” have portrayed this to be, but He will embrace those who are being crushed. His word specifically declares that His Spirit is Close to (Hovering Over) those who are being broken. God is present, He has never left. It may not be sell-able from a marketing standpoint, nor should it be, but God is Embracing those who are at the brink of total devastation. “In This” oh Lord, you are near. When the pain gets so bad and a breathless cry is all we have left, God hears us and promises that He will continue to be with us. This is a place of total damasking, all facades are removed, the ultimate reality check. We are human indeed, we are truly alive, and the hurt is oh so real. God’s Grace must be the destination, because all other venues seem to be nothing but silly pursuits. But this is not what we were planning on, we may say. God brings Grace! For all of life is gift, even in this we are privileged, because we are brought to the ultimate understanding that no matter how painful our experience and circumstances may be, we now have nowhere to run except into the presence of a loving, caring, holy God. Grace is His touch that we are accepted, valued, & loved. No performing, pretending, or posturing is necessary. In this pursuit we find that life truly is a gift, a privilege, and an amazing experience. We may have massive brokenness to get cleaned up, and it may take many years to clean it up, but we have the ever knowing conformation that God is with us, in us, and for us. This can bring peace to our souls that everything will be OK, but not the same way we may have thought of it to be in the past. It will all be OK because we are in God’s presence, and have always been, but we are now just realizing it. We can face our fears and rough realities with our arms and eyes wide open, knowing He is with us. As we embrace our circumstances we can bring with us the presence of God’s Grace and share our understanding that God is here, He has never left, and we can find Him…Even in this. Hopefully, as we go through our toughest circumstance we will learn to look into other peoples lives with a more compassionate and understanding lens (non-critical) and be willing to reach out and Engage & Embrace. Grace & Peace.
